Are you bringing home the bacon?

Last year the World Health Organisation upset a lot of people when they revealed that bacon (along with other processed meats and red meats) is strongly linked to bowel cancer. While experts have since assured people that the occasional rasher or steak is fine, it’s still a good reminder to cut down on the 25kg of pig meat and 43kg of red meat the average Australian eats in a year! With a price tag of around $23.18 per kilo, not bringing home the bacon (or bringing home less) is kinder on wallets as well as bowels.
